Head Chef and Owner, Shaun Smith began his culinary journey as an apprentice at Cronin’s Gerringong Hotel before exploring the world of fine dining in Melbourne, Sydney and London. Beyond the restaurant scene, Shaun has had extensive café, baking and catering experiences working side-by-side with some generously talented and upcoming chefs. Coming full circle, Shaun returned to Gerringong in 2015 with one goal in mind, to bring quality eats with style and convenience to his hometown for his family, friends and community to enjoy.
Partner in life and in business, Carly has had a rich, varied career that cuts across the hospitality, customer service and project management fields.
A Victorian by origin, Carly was first introduced to the South Coast in 2010 and instantly felt the warmth and connection of the local community.
The name Smith St. Foods was inspired by Melbourne’s Smith St. Fitzroy which boasts an eclectic food scene with something for everyone.
It also helped that both Shaun & Carly’s last names are Smith.
